Assistant General Manager
Andrew Ball is in his second season as Assistant General Manager for the Astros. In his role, he assists Dana Brown with all aspects of Baseball Operations, primarily focusing on Major League roster management, player evaluation and procurement, contract negotiations, and rules compliance. Ball also oversees departmental administration and works closely with all departments on long-term strategy, innovation, and facilitating learning and development.
Prior to joining the Astros, Ball spent five seasons (2017-2021) as the Director of Baseball Operations for the Los Angeles Angels and three seasons (2014-2016) with the Tampa Bay Rays in their Pro Scouting department. He began his career in professional baseball with the independent York Revolution, starting as an intern in 2011 before spending two seasons as Manager of Baseball Operations.
Ball graduated from Gwynedd-Mercy College, where he earned a business administration degree and pitched for the baseball team. He lives in Houston with his wife, Rachel.
