Bregman has right wrist surgery
HOUSTON -- Astros third baseman Alex Bregman underwent surgery on his right wrist Monday morning, the team announced. He can resume baseball activities in 6-10 weeks and should be ready for Spring Training.
Bregman hit .270 with 12 homers and 55 RBIs in 91 games this year in the regular season, missing 58 games with a strained left quad.
Bregman was out from June 17-Aug. 26 and hit .379 with three homers and 17 RBIs in his first 18 games back from his quad injury. He struggled down the stretch, however, hitting .113 with two homers in his final 53 at-bats of the regular season. In the playoffs, he batted .217 with one homer and seven RBIs in 16 games, going 2-for-21 with two walks and seven strikeouts in 25 plate appearances in the World Series vs. the Braves.
