Houston Astros Coca-Cola Shooting Stars Auditions

The Houston Astros are hosting auditions to be a member of the 2025 Coca-Cola Shooting Stars team!

We are seeking dynamic, well-spoken and talented individuals with drive and dedication to create a family-friendly atmosphere and interactive experience for our fans at Houston Astros home games. As a member of the Coca-Cola Shooting Stars, you will also have a visible role as a dancer performer and an ambassador of the Houston Astros brand in and around Houston, adding a more personal touch to games and community events. If you're an Astros fan and this sounds like you, we encourage you to audition for the Coca-Cola Shooting Stars!

Coca-Cola Shooting Star Auditions will take place over a four-day period beginning Friday, November 22, 2024 and concluding Monday, November 25, 2024.

Day 1

***ADVANCED REGISTRATION is highly recommended this year as the audition format has changed. Advanced registration closes on November 19th and on November 20th you will receive a password to access choreography that you will perform at auditions on Friday, November 22nd.

***Disclaimer: We will quickly go over the choreography that you should have learned and came to auditions prepared with. We will NOT be teaching the dance on audition day.

When: Friday, November 22, 2024 | 6:00pm-9:00pm

Day 2, 3 and 4 | By Invitation Only

When: Saturday, November 23, 2024 - Monday, November 25, 2024

Walk Ups:

Walk-ups are welcome on Day 1 of the audition but need to arrive early in order to fill out an application and waiver. You will need to bring your $30 registration fee (credit card only) and a current headshot in order to try out. The format has changed this year for auditions so those that choose to do walk-ups need to understand that a dance will NOT be taught day of.

• Previous dance experience or training is a plus
• Must live within 100 miles of Minute Maid Park
• Ability to commit for a one-year term of service exclusive of other professional performance teams

As a Coca-Cola Shooting Star you will:

• Appear as an ambassador of the Houston Astros organization through our in-game promotions and entertainment, community outreach and charity events
• Perform a variety of dances in front of 40,000+ fans
• Get paid to be a part of the excitement and cheer on the Astros
• Create lifelong memories for Astros fans
• Gain experience working in Major League Baseball

Requirements:

• All candidates must be at least 18 years of age by November 22, 2024 AND must have already graduated from high school
• All team members must have flexible schedules and be available for all team meetings, games and appearances during the term
• Must be available to work at least 60 home games beginning on Opening Day of the 2025 season
• Attend ALL monthly team meetings and other team meetings as determined by the Houston Astros
• Available as needed for appearances as determined by the Houston Astros

If selected to join the Coca-Cola Shooting Stars team for 2025, you commit to attending all mandatory events, including but not limited to:

• Team onboarding on December 13, 2024: 6:00pm-9:00pm
• Team Dinner on January 10, 2025: 6:00pm-9:00pm
• Team Training on January 15: 6:00pm-9:00pm
• Mandatory Photo Shoot Day on Sunday, January 19: 6:00am-5:00pm
• Fan Fest on January 25: ALL DAY
• Video Shoot Practice on January 28: 6:00pm-9:00pm and February 1: 1:00pm-5:00pm
• Mandatory Video Shoot Day on February 2
• Dance Bootcamp: February 1: 6:30pm-9:30pm, February 15: 1:00pm-5:00pm February 16: 10:00am-2:00pm
• All additional mandatory dates will be given at the first training session on December 12, 2024

Audition Process and Judging Criteria:

Auditions will be closed to anyone not auditioning. Those that pre-register will receive password to access choreography that you will perform at auditions on Friday, November 22nd. Disclaimer: We will quickly go over the choreography that you should have learned and came to auditions prepared with. We will NOT be teaching the dance on audition day. If you are asked to return for the second day of the auditions on November 23rd it will consist of two dance rounds, group interview and group project. The third day of auditions on November 24th you will be assigned a time for a short individual interview. If you get an email, you will be invited to a 1-night bootcamp on November 25th. All candidates must be able to attend all of these dates and no exceptions will be made.

Candidates will be judged on the following:

• Personality and enthusiasm
• Ability to positively represent the Astros brand
• Knowledge of the Astros organization and game of baseball
• Capacity to work in a group
• Dance, rhythm skills, and the ability to learn choreography quickly
