CAREER ACCOLADES

Leyland helmed Major League teams for 22 seasons, overseeing the Pirates, Marlins, Rockies, and Tigers, achieving a total of 1,769 victories. His managerial career boasted six first-place finishes, three pennants, and the crowning achievement of the 1997 World Series title with the Marlins.

Recognized for his managerial prowess, Leyland earned the Manager of the Year accolade three times, twice with the Pirates in 1990 and 1992 and once more with the Tigers in 2006. In 2017, Leyland capped his managerial career by leading Team USA to the World Baseball Classic championship.

Jim Leyland Hall of Fame

Jim Leyland took the Detroit Tigers to new heights and elevated the game of baseball throughout his entire career.

The Contemporary Era Baseball committee inducted Leyland into the Baseball Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2024 where he will be forever enshrined in baseball glory. The induction ceremony took place in Cooperstown, New York July 19-21.
