Against Mets pitcher John Maine in his 2nd game, but 1st start, in the big leagues, Votto hit a drive to center field for the 1st hit, home run and RBI of his career

Nov. 22, 2010: National League MVP

Votto became the 10th Reds player to win NL MVP honors after he batted .324/.424/.600 with 37 home runs and 113 RBIs. During the year, he was named to his 1st All-Star Game and was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated

Aug. 28, 2011: Walk-off homer in extras

Votto hit 2 homers vs. the Nationals, including a drive to the left-field bleachers against Collin Balester in the 14th inning for a 5-4 walk-off win

April 4, 2012: Big money extension!

Votto signed a 10-year, $225 million contract extension that kept him with the Reds through the 2023 season

During an 11-2 rout of the Phillies, Votto slugged 3 home runs on 3 consecutive pitches

July 30, 2021: 7-game home run streak

At 37 years old, Votto homered in his 7th consecutive game during a 6-2 victory over the Mets at Citi Field. The following night, he missed by inches with a drive off the wall that would have tied the MLB record of 8 straight games
