2006: Breaking Red Sox records

Ortiz sets Boston’s single-season HR record, previously owned by Jimmie Foxx, by clubbing No. 51 against his former team. The slugger finished 2006 with a still-club-record 54 HRs.

2007: Adding another ring

Ortiz finishes with career-highs in batting average (.332), 2Bs (52), and OPS (1.066) and helps the Sox win their 2nd World Series in 4 seasons as they sweep the Rockies in 2007

2013: Rallying a city

With Boston reeling 5 days after the Boston Marathon bombings, Ortiz rallies the crowd at Fenway with a stirring speech, announcing “This is our [bleeping] city”

2013: Papi slam!

Arguably the most clutch hit of his career, Ortiz clubs a game-tying slam with 2 outs in the bottom of the 8th in Game 2 of the 2013 ALCS. Boston wins in 10 innings and the ALCS in 6 games
