White Sox invite 22 players to Spring Training

The Chicago White Sox have agreed to terms on minor-league contracts with the following six free agents: right-handed pitchers Rob Scahill, Chris Volstad and Michael Ynoa, left-hander T.J. House and infielders Patrick Leonard and Matt Skole.

The Chicago White Sox have agreed to terms on minor-league contracts with the following six free agents: right-handed pitchers Rob Scahill, Chris Volstad and Michael Ynoa, left-hander T.J. House and infielders Patrick Leonard and Matt Skole.
All six players, in addition to 16 others from within the organization, have received non-roster invites to the club's spring training camp in Glendale, Ariz.
Right-handed pitchers Chris Beck, Dylan Cease, Tyler Danish, Dane Dunning, Alec Hansen, Michael Kopech, Jordan Stephens and Connor Walsh, left-handers Brian Clark and Jordan Guerrero, catchers Zack Collins, Alfredo Gonzalez and Seby Zavala, infielder Jake Burger and outfielders Jacob May and Luis Robert ("RAH-bert") received invites to major-league camp from within the system. Seven of the 22 invitees are currently rated among the club's Top 10 Prospects by Baseball America and MLB.com entering the 2018 season, while seven have major-league experience.
Pitchers and catchers report to spring training on Wednesday, February 14, including physicals and a workout. Position players will report and undergo physicals on Monday, February 19. The first full-squad workout also takes place on the 19th.
The White Sox begin the 2018 Cactus League season on February 23 as the visiting team against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Camelback Ranch - Glendale. Chicago plays its first official home game on February 25 vs. Cincinnati.

RHP Chris Beck: Has appeared in 83 games (one start) with the White Sox from 2015-17.
INF Jake Burger: Made his professional debut with the Arizona Rookie League White Sox and Class A Kannapolis last season; was selected by Chicago in the first round (11th overall) of the 2017 First-Year Player Draft.
RHP Dylan Cease: Made his debut in the White Sox system last season with Class A Kannapolis; was acquired with OF Eloy Jiménez, INF Matt Rose and INF Bryant Flete from the Cubs in exchange for LHP José Quintana on July 13, 2017.
LHP Brian Clark: Spent the 2017 season with Class AAA Charlotte; was selected by Chicago in the ninth round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft.
C Zack Collins: Ranked by Baseball America as the No. 6 prospect and by MLB.com as the No. 7 prospect in the White Sox system; selected by Chicago in the first round (10th overall) of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft.
RHP Tyler Danish: Has appeared in four games (one start) with the White Sox from 2016-17.
RHP Dane Dunning: Made his debut in the Chicago organization in 2017 with Class A Winston-Salem and Kannapolis; was acquired from Washington with RHPs Reynaldo López and Lucas Giolito in exchange for OF Adam Eaton on December 7, 2016.
C Alfredo Gonzalez: Spent the 2017 season with Class AA Birmingham.
LHP Jordan Guerrero: Spent the 2017 season with Class AA Birmingham; was selected by Chicago in the 15th round of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft.
RHP Alec Hansen: Led all of Minor League Baseball with 191 strikeouts last season, the most in the minors since 2011; was selected by the White Sox in the second round of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft.
LHP T.J. House: Has appeared in 29 career games (22 starts) with Cleveland (2014-16) and Toronto (2017), going 5-7 with a 4.44 ERA (59 ER/119.1 IP) and 90 strikeouts.
RHP Michael Kopech: Is rated by Baseball America and MLB.com as the No. 2 prospect in the White Sox system; ranked sixth in Minor League Baseball last season with 155 strikeouts, and was named the Southern League Most Outstanding Pitcher.
INF Patrick Leonard: Spent the entire 2017 season with Class AAA Durham in the Tampa Bay organization.
OF Jacob May: Made the White Sox Opening Day roster in 2017 and appeared in 15 games before finishing the season with Class AAA Charlotte.
OF Luis Robert: Made his debut in the Chicago organization last season, appearing in 28 games with the Dominican Summer League White Sox; was signed by Chicago as a minor-league free agent from Cuba on May 27, 2017.
RHP Rob Scahill: Has appeared in 118 major-league games over six seasons with Colorado (2012-14), Pittsburgh (2015-16) and Milwaukee (2016-17), going 5-7 with a 3.79 ERA (61 ER/144.2 IP) and 96 strikeouts.
INF Matt Skole: Spent the season in the Washington Nationals organization, playing for Class AAA Syracuse and Class A Auburn.
RHP Jordan Stephens: Made 16 starts with Class AA Birmingham in 2017; was selected by Chicago in the fifth round of the 2015 First-Year Player Draft.
RHP Chris Volstad: Spent most of the 2017 season with Class AAA Charlotte (27 games/18 starts) but finished the season with the White Sox (six games/two starts).
RHP Connor Walsh: Split the 2017 season with Class AAA Charlotte and Class AA Birmingham; was selected by Chicago in the 12th round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft.
RHP Michael Ynoa: Made 22 relief appearances with the White Sox last season before finishing the year with Class AAA Charlotte.
C Seby Zavala: Split the 2017 season with Class A Kannapolis and Class A Winston-Salem, leading the White Sox system in home runs (21) and RBI (72); was selected by Chicago in the 12th round of the 2015 First-Year Player Draft.
