White Sox announce two roster moves
CHICAGO -- Prior to tonight’s game vs. the New York Yankees, the Chicago White Sox placed right-handed pitcher Lucas Giolito on the COVID-19 Related injured list, returned outfielder Andrew Vaughn from his injury rehab assignment at Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the 10-day injured list.
Vaughn, 24, went 2-7 (.286) with two solo home runs and three runs scored in two rehab games with Charlotte. He has been on the injured list since May 5 (retroactive to May 2) with a bruised right hand. Vaughn is hitting .283/.367/.566 (15-53) with three doubles, four home runs and 12 RBI in 16 games this season.
Giolito, 27, is 2-1 with a 2.70 ERA (8 ER/26.2 IP), 37 strikeouts (12.49 per 9.0 IP) and a .221 (21-95) opponents average in his five starts this season.
