Buehler, Taillon named Pitchers of the Month
Walker Buehler of the Los Angeles Dodgers has been voted the National League Pitcher of the Month for July, and Jameson Taillon of the New York Yankees has been named the American League Pitcher of the Month for July. The announcements were made earlier today on MLB Network.
Buehler earned his first career NL Pitcher of the Month Award and is the first Dodgers winner since his former rotation-mate Hyun-Jin Ryu in May 2019. Taillon similarly claimed his first career AL Pitcher of the Month Award and is the Yankees’ second winner this season, following his All-Star teammate Gerrit Cole (April).

• Across five starts, compiled a perfect 3-0 record with 38 strikeouts, nine walks and a 1.67 ERA over 32.1 innings pitched. Permitted 20 hits and did not allow a home run.
• Was dominant in his final start of the month, earning his 11th victory of the season after firing 7.0 scoreless innings with eight punchouts.
• Has tossed at least 7.0 innings without permitting more than two runs in each of his last three starts dating back to July 17th. Notched at least eight strikeouts in each outing while not permitting more than five hits in any.
• Enters play today with the third-lowest ERA in the Majors (2.19), trailing only fellow All-Star Lance Lynn (2.07) of the Chicago White Sox and Freddy Peralta (2.17) of the Milwaukee Brewers. His .917 winning percentage (11-1) paces all of Baseball.
Jameson Taillon, New York Yankees (@j_taillon19)
• Registered a perfect 4-0 record with a 1.16 ERA and a 25:10 strikeout-to-walk ratio across five starts. Permitted 20 hits and a pair of home runs over 31.0 innings of work.
• Tossed at least 5.0 innings without allowing more than two earned runs in any of his five outings in July.
• Has not lost a decision since May 31st against the Tampa Bay Rays. Won six-of-seven decisions from June 24th-July 30th, delivering a 2.11 ERA during the hot stretch.
• Following his dominant month on the mound, lowered his season ERA by more than a full run from June (5.43) to 4.11.
