Red Sox to begin 2024 Spring Training exhibition season February 23 at JetBlue Park
Club to Play Two-Game Set in the Dominican Republic March 9-10
BOSTON, MA - The Red Sox announced today their 2024 Spring Training exhibition season schedule, which has the team opening the season Friday, February 23, at JetBlue Park at Fenway South in Fort Myers, Florida against the Northeastern University Huskies. The team will play their first Grapefruit League game the following day, Saturday, February 24, against the Baltimore Orioles at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, Florida. The Grapefruit League schedule includes 15 traditional home and away games with matchups against six American League teams and five National League teams. Red Sox Spring Training is presented by CVS Health.
The Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays will meet for a pair of Spring Training games at Estadio Quisqueya in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic March 9-10. The Red Sox last played international Spring Training games when they travelled to Tokyo, Japan in 2008 for matchups against the Hanshin Tigers and Yomiuri Giants.
The Red Sox will play 12 games against divisional opponents, including two games against their American League East rival New York Yankees. The team will face the Yankees on Wednesday, March 13, at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, Florida and will host New York at JetBlue Park on Sunday, March 17. Other divisional matchups include five games against the Tampa Bay Rays, three games against the Baltimore Orioles, and two games against the Toronto Blue Jays. The team will also square off against the Minnesota Twins, Atlanta Braves, Philadelphia Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals, Washington Nationals, Detroit Tigers, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Texas Rangers.
The Red Sox will play more games against the Minnesota Twins than against any other opponent. The club will host their Lee County rivals at JetBlue Park February 25, March 15, and 23 and will travel to Hammond Stadium at Lee County Sports Complex in Fort Myers March 1, 6, and 18.
The Grapefruit League schedule will conclude with a matchup against the Atlanta Braves at JetBlue Park on Sunday, March 24. Before travelling to Seattle to open the 2024 regular season against the Mariners, the Red Sox will make a stop in Arlington, Texas for two games against the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Field (March 25-26) to close out the Spring Training exhibition season.
The 2024 season is the Red Sox' 13th at JetBlue Park at Fenway South. Game times and ticket sale details for the 2024 Spring Training season will be finalized and announced at a later date. All dates are subject to change.
