Major League Baseball today announced the Major League Umpires who have been assigned to the 2020 World Series, including 22-year Umpire Bill Miller as the primary crew chief of the 116th Fall Classic, which will be played at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. The National League Champion Los Angeles Dodgers and the American League Champion Tampa Bay Rays, the Clubs with the two best records in Major League Baseball this season, will meet in the 2020 World Series, with Game One set for Tuesday.

Miller’s crew includes regular season crew chief Jerry Meals, Mark Carlson, Laz Diaz, Chris Guccione, Marvin Hudson and Todd Tichenor. Meals will serve as the crew chief in Game Two of the World Series. This marks Miller’s fourth career World Series (previous: 2010, 2013, 2017) and his first as the crew chief. This is the third Fall Classic for Diaz; the second for Carlson, Guccione, Hudson and Meals; and the first for Tichenor.

Each of the seven umpires assigned to the World Series could receive a plate assignment. Each umpire will be off the field during the game prior to their scheduled plate duties. The Replay Official during the World Series will be Major League Umpire Adrian Johnson, who will be assisted by Major League Umpire David Rackley. A complete listing of the rotation for the World Series accompanies this press release.
