HOUSTON – Prior to tonight’s game at Houston, the Chicago White Sox announced the following four roster moves:

• Claimed off waivers from the Yankees (1): RHP Enyel De Los Santos;
• Recalled from Class AAA Charlotte (1): RHP Gus Varland;
• Placed on the 15-day injured list (1): RHP Steven Wilson with a lower back strain (retroactive to August 15);
• Transferred to the 60-day injured list (1): RHP Mike Clevinger.

De Los Santos, 28, is 1-2 with a 5.79 ERA (30 ER/46.2 IP) and one save in 49 combined relief appearances between the Yankees and San Diego this season. He was traded by the Padres to the Yankees on July 30 as part of a three-player deal.

The 6-foot-3, 235-pound De Los Santos has gone 14-6 with a 4.52 ERA (116 ER/231 IP) and 248 strikeouts in 214 career games over six seasons with Philadelphia (2018-2019, ‘21), Pittsburgh (2021), Cleveland (2022-2023), San Diego (2024) and New York-AL (2024). He originally was signed by Seattle as an international free agent on July 17, 2014 out of San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic.

Varland, 27, is 0-0 with a 3.86 ERA (2 ER/4.2 IP) in four games with Class AAA Charlotte after being claimed off waivers from the Dodgers on August 2. He made seven relief appearances with Los Angeles-NL this season, going 0-0 with a 3.00 ERA (2 ER/6.0 IP) and three strikeouts. Varland will wear uniform No. 37.

Clevinger, who has been on the injured list since May 25, underwent season-ending disk replacement surgery on his neck on August 1. He went 0-3 with a 6.75 ERA (12 ER/16.0 IP) and 15 strikeouts over four starts with Chicago in 2024.

Wilson, 29, has made 40 relief appearances for the White Sox this season, going 1-6 with a 5.71 ERA (22 ER/34.2 IP) and 34 strikeouts.

Following the moves, the White Sox 40-man roster remains at 40.
