What's happening this weekend at Phillies-Angels series, June 4-5
Phanatic About Reading Night Presented by XFINITY & Ray Didinger Ceremonial First Pitch!
It’s going to be a jam-packed weekend at Citizens Bank Park as the Phillies take on the Los Angeles Angels for the final two games of the homestand on Saturday, June 4, through Sunday, June 5. Here’s a look at all the promotions and fun surrounding the series, as well as other need-to-know information when coming to the ballpark.
1. On Saturday, June 4, start your summer reading early at Phanatic About Reading Night Presented by XFINITY at the 7:15 p.m. game. Children 14 and under will receive the Phanatic Children's Book Presented by XFINITY: Phillie Phanatic’s Doggy Tale.
· The five most improved and five most outstanding readers in this popular program that reaches 64,000 students will be recognized on-field during a pregame ceremony. The list of 2022 Phanatic About Reading winners can be found here.
A book collection benefitting Tree House Books will be held at the First Base, Third Base and Left Field Gates. Fans are asked to donate new and gently used children’s and teen books. Classic titles, book series, and books by authors of color are appreciated. A community and literacy center in North Central Philadelphia, Tree House Books gives away more than 80,000 books each year to families to build home libraries.
Also happening is the pregame Saturday Block Party presented by Anheuser-Busch at the Third Base Plaza featuring entertainment by DJ HBK.
1. On Sunday, June 5, Pro Football Hall of Fame sportswriter Ray Didinger, who recently announced his retirement after 53 years covering Philadelphia sports, will have the honor of making a ceremonial first pitch. The longtime SportsRadio 94WIP host and NBC Sports Philadelphia analyst will take the field before the 1:35 p.m. game.
Other need-to-know information:
- Safety guidelines: In accordance with the City’s safety guidelines, fans are strongly encouraged to wear masks in indoor spaces at the ballpark including the Diamond Club, retail stores, elevators and restrooms. Fans are reminded to bring their own mask if they will be at one of the previously mentioned areas at Citizens Bank Park.
- Parking lots**: ** Parking for Phillies games is cashless. Methods of payment include credit/debit cards and mobile payment (Apple Pay and Google Pay). To expedite entry, pre-paid parking passes may also be purchased prior to the game. Tailgating lots (M, N & O) will open 5 hours prior to first pitch and non-tailgating lots will open 3 hours prior.
- Access Tickets & More: Use the free MLB Ballpark app as your guide to Citizens Bank Park to access tickets, forward to friends, use the interactive concourse maps and enjoy games.
- Gate Openings: All gates open 90 minutes before game time.
- To expedite entry: Guests are prohibited from bringing bags, including backpacks, into the ballpark. Only clutch purses (12”x 12” x 1”), fanny packs, medical bags, clear or solid tote bags and diaper bags will be permitted into Citizens Bank Park.
- Broadcast: The game on June 4 will be broadcast on FOX. The game on June 5 will be broadcast on NBCSP, MLBN (out-of-market only) and available via live stream for authenticated subscribers on NBC Sports Philadelphia’s MyTeams app. Both games will broadcast on 94 WIP and WTTM 1680.
