Legends Return for Toyota Phillies Alumni Weekend! Dan Baker’s 50th Anniversary Salute, Wall of Fame Induction Ceremony of Bake McBride and Ron Reed, and Salute to 1980 Phillies; Plus, Coca-Cola Mike Schmidt 1980 World Champions Replica Ring, Phillies Charities, Inc. Legends Auction and more!
On Thursday, August 4, the Phillies kick off a four-game series against the Washington Nationals at Citizens Bank Park. Fans attending the games should arrive to the ballpark early for Toyota Phillies Alumni Weekend festivities. Click here to find out which baseball legends will be returning. In addition, an official Phillies publication highlighting the 1980 World Series champions will be available throughout the weekend. This 64-page book ($10), which includes a look back at the season through the eyes of Mike Schmidt, will be sold at the New Era Phillies Team Store, through ballpark program vendors, and at phillies.com/shop.
1) Get ready for Thursday’s 7:05 p.m. series opener! Highlights include the Coca-Cola Mike Schmidt 1980 World Champions Replica Ring for fans 15 and over. Plus, the sold-out Phillies #CollegeSeries presented by Temple University’s Fox School of Business will be hosted before the game.
2) Come celebrate Dan Baker’s 50th Anniversary Salute before Friday’s 7:05 p.m. game. The event will also be streamed live on phillies.com, as well as on Phillies YouTube and Facebook.
- Be in your seats by 6:30 p.m. as Phillies legendary public address announcer Dan Baker, whose iconic voice has provided countless memories for Philadelphia fans from multiple generations, celebrates 50 years on the microphone.
- The salute will feature a trip down memory lane, led by broadcaster Tom McCarthy. Former players are scheduled to participate, as well as special guests from Baker’s storied career. Get the full details here.
- Plus, 12-year-old Lily Chung, a patient at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, will represent Toyota and have the honor of throwing a ceremonial first pitch.
- Also, stop by the Third Base Plaza to learn about the Darren Daulton Foundation, which provides financial assistance to those who suffer from malignant primary brain tumors. A portion of the gross proceeds of that night’s Phillies Charities, Inc. 50/50 drawing, presented by DraftKings, will benefit the Darren Daulton Foundation.
3) On Saturday, August 6, legends Ron Reed and Bake McBride will be inducted into the Toyota Phillies Wall of Fame at the 6:05 p.m. game. Plus, all fans will receive a commemorative print of the 2022 Wall of Fame inductees, courtesy of Toyota.
- Be at the ballpark early as the Phillies bestow one of their highest honors upon two of the 1980 World Series champions, Bake McBride and Ron Reed, who will both be inducted into the Toyota Phillies Wall of Fame.
- Among those taking part will be Toyota Phillies Wall of Famers, as well as members of the 1980 World Series roster. Get the full details here.
- Also, on behalf of Toyota, there will two special on-field happenings including a ceremonial first pitch from 16-year-old amputee Landis Sims from the Challenged Athletes Foundation, whose dream is to be a major league player. At the end of the third inning, be on the lookout for CAF Operation Rebound Athlete Brandon Holiday and his service dog Dyson, who will have the honor of making a Hometown Hero Base Change.
- The national anthem will be performed by Tommy Conwell, frontman for the Philadelphia-based band Tommy Conwell and the Young Rumblers.
- Plus, author Bill Kashatus will sign copies of his latest book Lefty and Tim starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Phillies Authentics shop on the main concourse.
- Stop by the First Base Plaza for the Phillies Charities, Inc. Legends Auction featuring memorabilia signed by former players including Cole Hamels, Ryan Howard, Cliff Lee, Jimmy Rollins, Jim Thome and Chase Utley, among others. Bid on items via the MLB Ballpark App until noon on August 12.
- Other highlights include a pregame Block Party presented by Kona Big Wave with DJ HBK at the Budweiser Batter's Eye in Section 148.
4) Be at the ballpark early as the Phillies 1980 World Champions team will be honored at Toyota Phillies Alumni Day before Sunday’s 1:35 p.m. game.
- Legends from the first world championship team in Phillies history will take the field to be honored pregame! Toyota Phillies Wall of Famers and local alumni will also be participating. Full details here.
- All fans in attendance will receive a commemorative ticket NFT as part of MLB's partnership with Candy Digital along with an email on how to redeem this exciting promotion.
- Also, 2022 Toyota Phillies Wall of Fame inductee Ron Reed will throw a ceremonial first pitch, which will be caught by his teammate Bob Boone.
- In addition, there will be another ceremonial first pitch on behalf of Toyota featuring Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region Little Brother Trae English, accompanied by his Big Brother Jason Woolf. Robbie Suite will also have the honor of making that day’s Toyota Base Change at the end of the sixth inning.

- Broadcast: The games on 8/4, 8/6 and 8/7 will be broadcast on NBCSP and available via live stream for authenticated subscribers on NBC Sports Philadelphia’s MyTeams app. The game on 8/5 will be broadcast on Apple TV+. All games will broadcast on 94 WIP and WTTM 1680.
- To expedite entry: Guests are prohibited from bringing bags, including backpacks, into the ballpark. Only clutch purses (12”x 12” x 1”), fanny packs, medical bags, clear or solid tote bags and diaper bags will be permitted into Citizens Bank Park.
- Access Tickets & More: Use the free MLB Ballpark app as your guide to Citizens Bank Park to access tickets, forward to friends, use the interactive concourse maps and enjoy games.
- Parking lots: Parking for Phillies games is cashless. Methods of payment include credit/debit cards and mobile payment (Apple Pay and Google Pay). To expedite entry, pre-paid parking passes may also be purchased prior to the game. Tailgating lots (M, N & O) will open 5 hours prior to first pitch and non-tailgating lots will open 3 hours prior.
- Gate Openings: All gates open 90 minutes before game time.
