Twins reinstate Cody Stashak

Devin Smeltzer Optioned to Alternate Training Site

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have reinstated right-handed pitcher Cody Stashak from the 10-day Injured List.

Stashak, who missed the last 24 games with low back inflammation, appeared in six games for the Twins this season, posting a 3.86 ERA (7.0 IP, 3 ER), with two walks, 10 strikeouts, a .192 opponent batting average and a 1.00 WHIP. The 26-year-old was originally drafted by the Twins in the 13th round of the 2015 First-Year Player Draft and has a career record of 0-1 with a 3.38 ERA (32.0 IP, 12 ER), three walks and 35 strikeouts in 24 games.

To make room on the 28-man roster, the Twins have optioned left-handed pitcher Devin Smeltzer to the alternate training site in St. Paul. Smeltzer appeared in seven games (1 start) for the Twins this season, going 2-0 with a 6.75 ERA (16.0 IP, 12 ER), five walks, 15 strikeouts, a .292 opponent batting average and a 1.50 WHIP.
