Correa, who has missed all 51 games since the All-Star break with right plantar fasciitis, has been taking live batting practice at Target Field against Twins minor leaguers over the last several days. Prior to landing on the IL, the 2024 All-Star hit .308 (86-for-279) with 16 doubles, two triples, 13 home runs, 47 RBI, 30 walks, 51 runs scored, a .377 on-base percentage and an .896 OPS in 75 games for the Twins this season.
To make room for Correa on the 28-man roster, the Twins have optioned outfielder DaShawn Keirsey Jr. to Triple-A St. Paul. Keirsey played in four games for the Twins, going 1-for-10.
