Twins partner with Juxtaposition Arts to launch 'The Epicenter for Change' T-shirt fundraiser
Proceeds will benefit Twin Cities communities impacted by unrest stemming from the death of George Floyd
MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins, in partnership with Juxtaposition Arts in North Minneapolis, today announced the launch of a limited-edition, community-made The Epicenter for Change t-shirt fundraiser to support Twin Cities communities impacted by the unrest stemming from the death of George Floyd. The t-shirts are available for a $30 donation, while supplies last, only at twinsbaseball.com/change; net proceeds will be split evenly among the West Broadway Business and Area Coalition (via the Northside Funders Group), the Lake Street Council (via the We Love Lake Street Recovery Fund) and the Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce (via the We Love St. Paul Fund).
Made by the community, for the community, The Epicenter for Change t-shirt was designed by local youth from Juxtaposition Arts and depicts images of the Minneapolis and St. Paul communities united together within the state outline. The Twins logo sits as the marker for the Twin Cities, embodying the strength of Minnesota as the epicenter for change as we work together to advance racial justice and equality.
“While the tragic death of George Floyd is a symbol of the deep pain present in our society today, his memory has proven to be the light of hope for a better tomorrow,” said Twins President & CEO Dave St. Peter. “The unified response from all corners of our state to help the communities and businesses damaged in the aftermath of May 25 is an inspiring sign of that promise. Minnesota is at the epicenter of a national reckoning; as a community partner, we are proud to join with Juxtaposition Arts to further the conversation and provide needed financial support for those locally who are rebuilding.”
