Texas Rangers roster moves for March 30
INF Brock Holt and RHP Ian Kennedy added to Major League roster; RHPs Jonathan Hernandez and Jose Leclerc placed on 60-day injured list
Arlington, Texas — The Texas Rangers today made the following roster moves:
--Selected the contracts of infielder Brock Holt and right-handed pitcher Ian Kennedy to the Major League roster.
--Placed right-handed pitchers Jonathan Hernandez and Jose Leclerc on the 60-day injured list.
Holt and Kennedy were signed as minor league free agents during the off-season and will be making their Rangers debuts.
Hernandez was diagnosed with a low grade UCL sprain in his right elbow in early March and will have a follow-up MRI next week. Leclerc will undergo ligament reconstruction surgery on his right elbow on Wednesday with Rangers Team Physician Dr. Keith Meister performing the procedure in Arlington.
With today’s moves, Texas’ Major League roster remains at 39 players. The Rangers must set their 26-man opening day roster by 11:00 a.m. CT on Thursday, April 1 when the team opens the 2021 regular season in Kansas City.
