Arlington, Texas—The Texas Rangers organization had a pair of players named to the Arizona Fall League "Fall Stars Game" West Division roster, it was announced this morning by Major League Baseball. Infielder Ezequiel Duran and right-handed pitcher Owen White were selected off the roster of the Surprise Saguaros.

Duran has slashed .298/.322/.596/.918 (17-57) with one home run and 10 RBI across 14 games for Surprise this fall, with 11 of his 17 hits going for extra bases (1 HR, 4 3B, 6 2B). The Dominican Republic native currently ranks among Arizona Fall League leaders in triples (T1st), extra-base hits (T4th) and doubles (T5th), while his .596 slugging percentage would be the 7th-highest mark on circuit if he qualified. A versatile infielder, Duran has seen defensive action at third base (7 starts), shortstop (5 starts) and second base (one start) for the Saguaros.

Duran was acquired by Texas from New York-AL on July 29th, 2021 as part of a six-player trade that sent OF Joey Gallo and LHP Joely Rodríguez to the Yankees. The 22-year-old combined to post a .267/.342/.486/.827 (111-416) slash line with 19 home runs, 79 RBI and 19 stolen bases in 105 games with High-A Hudson Valley (NYY) and Hickory (TEX) in 2021, his 4th professional season. Duran was rated by Baseball America as the 5th-best prospect in the Rangers organization according to the publication’s 2021 mid-season top 30 list.

White, 22, has produced a perfect 4-0 record, 1.16 ERA (3 ER/23.1 IP), and .143 opponent batting average in 5 starts for Surprise in the Arizona Fall League, leading the circuit in wins and innings pitched through games of Nov. 9. The right-hander has started four of the Saguaros' 14 wins thus far and was named Arizona Fall League Pitcher of the Week for Oct. 13-17.

White was selected by Texas in the second round of the 2018 MLB Draft and made his long-awaited professional debut in 2021, going 4-1 with a 3.06 ERA (12 ER/35.1 IP) in 9 games/8 starts for Down East (Low-A) and the Arizona Complex League Rangers (Rookie). Baseball America ranked White as the no. 21 prospect in the Texas farm system on its mid-season top 30 list.
