Colorado Rockies announce non-roster players for 2021 Spring Training
22 players receive non-roster invitations
DENVER -- The Colorado Rockies announced today the club’s non-roster invitations to 2021 Major League Spring Training. Below is the current list of all 22 players, by position.

Of the 22 total non-roster invites, seven are joining the Rockies from different organizations: Greg Bird (Texas, Philadelphia), José Briceño (Los Angeles-AL), C.J. Cron (Detroit), Brian Gonzalez (Baltimore), Jameson Hannah (Cincinnati), Connor Joe (Los Angeles-NL) and Dereck Rodríguez (San Francisco). Bird (4.095), Briceño (0.153), Cron (6.097), Joe (0.017) and Rodríguez (1.102) have all appeared in the Major Leagues. Hannah, selected by Oakland in the second round of the 2018 First-Year Player Draft, was acquired by Colorado via trade with Cincinnati on Nov. 25, 2020.
A total of 15 non-roster invitees finished the 2020 season in the Rockies organization, including four players who appeared in a Major League game with the Rockies: Chi Chi González, Joe Harvey, Chris Owings and Jesus Tinoco. Seven other players spent time at the Rockies’ alternate training site in Denver during the 2020 season: Willie MacIver, Ryan Rolison, Brian Serven, Chad Smith, Eric Stamets, Alan Trejo and Ryan Vilade.
Colorado native Max George, a graduate of Regis Jesuit High School, will be attending his first Major League Spring Training, as will Hannah and Heath Holder.
Rolison (2), Vilade (4) and Welker (7) are all ranked on MLB Pipeline’s Colorado Rockies Top-10 Prospects list.
Additionally, 13 players will participate in Triple-A Spring Training alongside those at Major League Camp: C Austin Bernard, OF Wynton Bernard, INF Scott Burcham, LHP Ian Clarkin, RHP Ryan Feltner, RHP Brandon Gold, OF Casey Golden, INF José Gomez, OF Nick Longhi, LHP Zac Rosscup, INF Taylor Snyder, RHP Garrett Schilling and LHP Jack Wynkoop.
Pitchers and catchers are scheduled to have their first workout this Thursday, Feb. 18, with the first full-squad workout scheduled for Feb. 23.
