Red Sox recall right-handed pitcher Connor Seabold from Triple-A Worcester
Boston Options Right-Handed Pitcher Phillips Valdez to Worcester
BOSTON, MA – The Boston Red Sox today recalled right-handed pitcher Connor Seabold from Triple-A Worcester. To make room for Seabold on the active Major League roster, Boston optioned right-handed pitcher Phillips Valdez to Worcester following last night’s game against the Chicago Cubs. Seabold is scheduled to start today’s game at Wrigley Field.

Seabold, 26, made his 2022 Red Sox debut Tuesday in Toronto, allowing seven runs over 4.2 innings. Ranked by MLB.com as Boston’s No. 14 prospect, the right-hander is 5-1 with a 2.09 ERA (12 ER/51.2 IP) in 11 starts for Worcester this season.
Valdez, 30, has posted a 5.40 ERA (8 ER/12.1 IP) in 11 appearances for Boston this season, most recently pitching in the majors on June 14 against the Oakland A’s. In 11 outings for Worcester, the right-hander has a 4.26 ERA (6 ER/12.2 IP) with 13 strikeouts.
