Red Sox, city of Boston to host free Fenway Park Open House presented by Aura Saturday, April 6
Hundreds of Little Leaguers to Play Catch in the Outfield as Part of Little League Opening Day Prior to Open House
BOSTON, MA – The Boston Red Sox, in partnership with the City of Boston, today announced they will open Fenway Park to the public for a free Open House on Saturday, April 6, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is presented by Aura, a Boston-based all-in-one online safety solution that empowers families and individuals to live healthier lives online and navigate the digital world safely.
Throughout the event, fans will have an opportunity to walk the warning track, sit in the dugouts, tour the clubhouses, peer into the bullpens, and look inside the Green Monster scoreboard. Families can enjoy kid-friendly activities in the Kids Concourse, presented by L.L.Bean, including face painting, craft tables, balloon artists, Big League Brian, and a caricaturist. Wally and his sister Tessie will be available for photos, along with the four World Series Trophies.
In the 521 Overlook, fans will have a chance to reflect on the life and legacy of Red Sox Hall of Famer Tim Wakefield as they view memorabilia from the career of the late knuckleballer.
Autograph sessions with Red Sox alumni will take place for the duration of the Open House from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the newly refreshed Aura Club located on the Aura Pavilion level. Confirmed alumni include Bob Montgomery, Lenny DiNardo, Keith Foulke, Mike Remlinger, Manny Delcarmen, Chico Walker, Orlando Cabrera, Ken Ryan, Chris Howard, and Sam Horn.
Fans can enter Fenway Park for the Open House using gates A, B, and D. Concessions will be available for purchase throughout the day. The Red Sox Ticket Office will be open throughout the event.
Earlier that same day, the club will host hundreds of Little Leaguers from across the Commonwealth for Little League Opening Day from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. The young players will have a chance to walk the warning track, take photos in the Red Sox and Visitor’s dugout, and have a catch in the outfield. Free concessions for the Little Leaguers will be provided by Red Sox concessionaire Aramark. In partnership with Little League Opening Day, a baseball equipment drive presented by IBEW Local 103 and NECA Boston will have collection boxes located inside Gate B.
