The Tampa Bay Rays Baseball Operations Department named infielder Tre' Morgan as Minor League Player of the Month and left-handed pitcher Ian Seymour Minor League Pitcher of the Month for May.

Morgan, 21, slashed .408/.494/.618 (31-for-76) with 10 doubles, two home runs, 18 RBI and 10 walks in 19 games, striking out only five times in 91 plate appearances. Following his May 14 promotion from Class-A Charleston to Class-A Bowling Green, Morgan hit .452 (19-for-42) with nine doubles, two home runs, 12 RBI and eight walks in 11 games for the Hot Rods, striking out once over 52 plate appearances.

He was named South Atlantic League Player of the Week for the week of May 13-19, hitting .529 (9-for-17) with five doubles, one home run, five RBI, four walks and zero strikeouts in five games. He ranked among all of Minor League Baseball during the month of May in batting average (1st), on-base percentage (3rd) and OPS (4th, 1.112).

Selected in the third round of the 2023 First-Year Player Draft out of Louisiana State University, Morgan has hit .368 (70-for-190) with 15 doubles, two triples, five home runs, 29 RBI, 14 steals and 26 walks against 17 strikeouts though his first 51 professional games. He is rated the Rays No. 13 prospect by MLB.com.

Seymour, 25, earned his second consecutive organizational Pitcher of the Month honor, going 3-1 with a 2.41 ERA (33.2IP, 9ER), 0.80 WHIP and .178 (21-for-118) opponent average in six starts for Double-A Montgomery. He struck out a career-high-tying 10 batters on May 24 at Rocket City, throwing 6.0 scoreless innings while allowing three hits and one walk.

He leads the Southern League with 70 strikeouts and a 0.78 WHIP while also ranking highly in opponent average (2nd, .167), innings pitched (T4th, 53.2) and ERA (6th, 2.35). The 70 strikeouts and 0.78 WHIP both rank sixth in all of Minor League Baseball. Since returning from Tommy John surgery on July 4, 2023, Seymour is 4-2 with a 1.98 ERA (95.2IP, 21ER) and 116 strikeouts over 23 starts.

Drafted in the second round of the 2020 First-Year Player Draft out of Virginia Tech, Seymour is rated the Rays No. 18 prospect by MLB.com.
