Pirates Homestand Highlights Friday, May 3-Sunday, May 12, 2024
Pirates return to PNC Park for a three-series homestand
The Pirates return home following a two-series, six-game road trip in San Francisco and Oakland. The Bucs will be at PNC Park for three games against both the Colorado Rockies and Los Angeles Angels before finishing off with a three-game series against NL Central-rival Chicago Cubs.
Highlights of the homestand include the first Zambelli Fireworks show of the 2024 season on Friday, May 3, Star Wars Night Saturday, May 4 and Scout Day on Sunday, May 5. The Pirates will conclude the homestand with Mother's Day and Breast Cancer Support Day on Sunday, May 12
Friday, May 3, 2024 - Colorado Rockies vs. Pittsburgh Pirates (6:40 p.m.)
- Miller Lite Happy Hour: Fans can arrive early and enjoy the Miller Lite Happy Hour at the Miller Lite Landing Bar, featuring drink specials, games and more from the time gates open until first pitch.
- Zambelli Fireworks Night: Stay after the game for the first Zambelli Fireworks show of the season, presented by 93.7 The Fan.
- Mental Health Action Day: Leave your worries at the gate and enjoy a night at the ballpark soaking in the first signs of summer and watching your Pittsburgh Pirates take on the Colorado Rockies. During this game, Pirates Charities will highlight their work to prioritize mental wellness in our community alongside partner Allegheny Health Network, host a mental health resource fair on the Highmark Riverwalk, and share how fans can act against this growing national crisis. Mental Health Action Day at the ballpark kicks off Mental Health Awareness Month. Fans can also sign up for the Pirates Charities Family Walk scheduled for Saturday, May 25 at pirates.com/familywalk. All proceeds benefit Pirates Charities and AHN mental health programming.
- Pirates Team Dog: The Pirates and PNC have teamed up with Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs to provide a service dog to a military veteran in the Pittsburgh area. The puppy will be at PNC Park for a pre-game field visit. Fans are encouraged to vote on the puppy’s name at pirates.com/teamdog before it’s announced on Monday, May 6.
Saturday, May 4, 2024 – Colorado Rockies vs. Pittsburgh Pirates (4:05 p.m.)
- Faith Night: This special event is perfect for community groups, church congregations, and anyone looking to elevate their spirits through the love of the game. Following the game, attendees will be treated to an exclusive session where Pirates players and coaches, along with their families, will share their inspiring stories and experiences. Andrew McCutchen, Bryan Reynolds, Jack Suwinski, Henry Davis, Connor Joe, Michael A. Taylor, Don Kelly, and others are planning to participate. (Player participation subject to change). - Star Wars Night: In honor of Star Wars Night, the first 20,000 fans take home a Star Wars themed Mitch Keller bobblehead. All fans in attendance at PNC Park will be transported to another planet with the opportunity to see some of your favorite Star Wars characters and more. Sunday, May 5, 2024 – Colorado Rockies vs. Pittsburgh Pirates (1:35 p.m.)
- Kids Ke’Bryan Hayes Gold Glove Action Figure: Kids 14 & under will take home a Ke’Bryan Hayes Gold Glove Action Figure, presented by Coen Markets.
- Scout Day: All scouts across Western PA and their families are invited to enjoy an exciting baseball game at the iconic PNC Park. This special event honors the commitment and adventures of our scouting community. Mark your calendars for an unforgettable experience, participating scouts will receive an exclusive Pittsburgh Pirates scout patch to commemorate the day. The first 1,000 scouts to secure a ticket will have the opportunity to do a special pregame salute on the warning track.
- Kids Run the Bases, presented by Coen Markets: All kids are invited to stay after the game and enjoy a postgame trot around the bases.
Monday, May 6, 2024 – Los Angeles Angels vs. Pittsburgh Pirates (6:40 p.m.)
- Healthcare Appreciation: In recognition of the tireless efforts of our local healthcare workers in Pittsburgh, we are offering a special ticket package that not only gives you discounted tickets to the game but also includes a unique healthcare appreciation gift. The ticket comes with loaded value that can be used on concessions or merchandise the day of the game. This promotion continues through the rest of the Pirates-Angels series. - Breast Cancer Support Day: The Pirates and Pirates Charities will honor and celebrate those from our community affected by breast cancer throughout Sunday’s game, alongside partners Glimmer of Hope and the Susan G. Komen Foundation. In conjunction with Mother’s Day, a special “Kids Take the Field” will take place for breast cancer patients or survivors and their children. In addition, participants from “Pitch for Hope,” a fundraising event benefiting the work of Glimmer of Hope, will be honored on-field prior to the game.
