Pirates acquire right-handed pitcher Peter Strzelecki from Cleveland; Team also tenders 2025 contracts to 32 players

The Pittsburgh Pirates today acquired right-handed pitcher Peter Strzelecki (pronounced STREZ-lecky) from the Cleveland Guardians for cash considerations.

The 30-year-old Strzelecki went 0-0 with a 2.31 ERA (11.2ip/3er) in 10 appearances over five separate stints with the Guardians in 2024 while also making 44 relief appearances for Triple-A Columbus last season.

Strzelecki, who was designated for assignment by Cleveland on November 19, has gone 5-6 with one save and a 3.44 ERA (83.2ip/32er) in 77 games in the big leagues with Milwaukee (2022-23), Arizona (2023) and Cleveland (2024).
