Phillies reinstate and option Hall; Guthrie designated for assignment
The Phillies have recalled infielder Darick Hall from his rehab assignment with triple-A Lehigh Valley, reinstated him from the 60-day injured list (right thumb sprain) and optioned him to Lehigh Valley. To make room for Hall on the 40-man roster, outfielder Dalton Guthrie has been designated for assignment.
Phillies President of Baseball Operations David Dombrowski made the announcement.
Hall, 27, slashed .222/.263/.278 in six games (five starts) for the Phillies this season. Last year, Hall was the recipient of the Paul Owens Award, presented annually to the organization’s top minor league player. In 41 games for the Phillies in 2022, he hit nine home runs and posted a .522 slugging percentage in 142 plate appearances.
Hall was originally selected by the Phillies in the 14th round of the 2016 MLB Draft.
Guthrie, 27, made the Phillies Opening Day roster and in his two stints with the team he hit .244 with seven runs, one double, one home run, five RBI and nine walks.
Guthrie was originally selected by the Phillies in the sixth round of the 2017 MLB Draft.
