WHAT: Tri-Cape and Burlington County, the top two high school all-star baseball teams from the tri-state area, will be competing in the Phillies Baseball Carpenter Cup championship game today at 1:00 p.m. The game will be played at the Phillies Urban Youth Academy Showcase Field at FDR Park. Tri-State won the Baseball Carpenter Cup championship in 2021 and Burlington County won in 2019. (Note: there was no Carpenter Cup in 2020 due to the pandemic).

In addition, it’s Opening Day for the Phillies Softball Carpenter Cup, with games also being played at Phillies Urban Youth Academy Showcase Fields at FDR Park. Top high school softball players from the tri-state area will be competing in this 31-game tournament.

Recognized nationally as one of the best competitions for high school baseball and softball players, the Phillies Carpenter Cup tournaments presented by Nike give athletes the chance to play ball in front of major league and/or college scouts. The events have also been a catalyst for many players to receive scholarships and admission to some of the country’s finest universities.
