Phillies announce baseball communications promotions

February 17th, 2022

The Phillies have promoted Chris Ware from manager of baseball communications to director of baseball communications and Jim Hogan from baseball communications assistant to baseball communications coordinator. Both will report to Kevin Gregg, who was hired in December for a newly created role of vice president of baseball communications. Kenny Ayres, baseball communications coordinator, rounds out the department.

Ware joined the Phillies in 2011 as a baseball communications intern and is in his 12th year with the club. He served in the manager role since 2018. Born and raised in West Chester, Pa., Ware attended West Chester Henderson High School and graduated from Immaculata University in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in communications.

Hogan has been with the Phillies since April 2017, serving as an intern and assistant in the department. Before joining the Phillies, he was a public relations assistant with the Baltimore Orioles from 2015-17. Hogan, a native of Absecon, N.J., is a graduate of St. Augustine Preparatory School and Loyola University Maryland, where he received his degree in communication/writing in 2014.

“One of the many reasons I was excited to return to the Phillies was the talented group of employees in the baseball communications department,” said Gregg. “Both Chris and Jim have worked tirelessly since joining the Phillies and are very deserving of their respective promotions. I look forward to their contributions and continued success with the club.”
