Padres announce 2022 spring broadcast schedule
18 preseason games in 2022 will be available via television, radio or audio webcast
SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Padres today announced their broadcast schedule for 2022 Spring Training presented by Southwest Airlines, featuring 18 preseason games that will be available to fans via television, radio or audio webcast.
Bally Sports San Diego (BSSD) will deliver 12 games live this spring, including seven live broadcasts and five simulcast pass throughs with the first broadcast scheduled for Friday, March 18 when the Padres take on the Seattle Mariners at the Peoria Sports Complex as the home team. The additional five games on BSSD will be simulcasts from Marquee, Bally Sports Wisconsin, Bally Sports Great Lakes, Bally Sports Arizona and Bally Sports Southwest when the Padres face the Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee Brewers, Cleveland Guardians, Arizona Diamondbacks and Texas Rangers, respectively. Other televised matchups include contests against the Colorado Rockies (March 21 in Peoria), Los Angeles Angels (March 23 in Peoria), Cubs (March 26 in Peoria), Guardians (March 27 in Peoria), and Brewers (March 30 in Peoria), before concluding the spring television schedule on Tuesday, April 5 when the Padres host the Chicago White Sox. Padres play-by-play broadcaster Don Orsillo returns to the booth for all Spring telecasts, with former Padres Mark Grant or Mark Sweeney in the analyst seat. Former MLB pitcher Bob Scanlan will once again provide analysis and reports as part of the broadcasts. All televised Padres games on BSSD will also be available for live streaming on the Bally Sports app.
Complementing Spring Training telecasts, Padres radio broadcasts will continue to be broadcast on 97.3 The Fan in 2022. The club’s English flagship station will broadcast at least 12 Cactus League games this year, with the first Spring radio broadcast taking place on Friday, March 18 and concluding on Sunday, April 3. Jesse Agler will provide the play-by-play with Tony Gwynn Jr. providing color commentary and analysis.
The Padres will provide an audio webcast available on www.padres.com for the April 1 game against the Kansas City Royals.The live webcast will be available free-of-charge exclusively on www.padres.com.
