June 5th, 2024

BOSTON, MA – The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), City of Boston, L.L.Bean, and the Boston Red Sox today announced that the 10th annual “Out of the Park” will take place on Sunday, June 23, at the DCR Hatch Memorial Shell on the Charles River Esplanade. “Out of the Park” is a free, family-oriented event that brings the Fenway Park experience out to the community.

“Out of the Park” will feature a live viewing of the 1:40 p.m. ET June 23 Red Sox-Reds game at Great American Ball Park. The NESN broadcast will be shown on a 16x30-foot video screen at the park, courtesy of a feed provided by Xfinity. NESN will also host their pregame show live from the Hatch Memorial Shell, weather permitting, beginning at 12:30 p.m., ahead of the 1:40 p.m. first pitch.

“Out of the Park” will begin at 12:30 p.m. with the Red Sox Mobile Showcase bringing a batting cage, pitching accuracy, and other games for families to enjoy. The events will also include many of the signature elements and amenities that can be found in and around Fenway Park and Jersey Street during home games, including yard games and face painters. Red Sox Mascot Wally the Green Monster, his sister Tessie, along with a live DJ will be present throughout the day. “Out of the Park” includes free food, provided courtesy of Red Sox partners.

The concept for “Out of the Park,” which is supported by Boston Parks & Recreation and the DCR, was created in 2014 from a shared focus on community building between the City of Boston and the Red Sox. The free event is part of the club’s ongoing effort to connect baseball to the next generation of fans.
