Minnesota Twins Homestand Highlights: July 20-24

Twins to host Milwaukee for Border Battle this weekend, followed by three games against Philadelphia next week

MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins – who are 47-29 since April 22, the best record in the American League since that date – return to Target Field tomorrow evening to begin the unofficial second half of the season with their eighth homestand, a five-game stay against a pair of National League foes. First, the Twins welcome the Milwaukee Brewers for a two-game Border Battle this Saturday-Sunday, July 20-21, followed by a three-game set against the Philadelphia Phillies – owners of the best record in baseball – from Monday-Wednesday, July 22-24.

This homestand features one theme night (sold-out St. Paul Saints Night on Monday, July 22); three gate giveaways (Royce Lewis Replica Bat presented by Lee County on Saturday, July 20; Rubik’s Cube on Sunday, July 21; and Twins LED Nightlight presented by Xcel Energy on Tuesday, July 23; and one Kids Day presented by Target and Gillette Children’s (Sunday, July 21). Saturday’s 6:10 p.m. game against the Astros is a 612 Saturday presented by Carbliss with media partner Bally Sports North, in which fans can enjoy $6 drink specials, $1 snacks and $2 food specials from when gates open until first pitch.

PABLO DAY

Whenever right-handed pitcher Pablo López starts at Target Field, fans can celebrate “Pablo Day” with the Twins’ Pablo Day Ticket Package; Pablo is scheduled to start tomorrow, Saturday, July 20 vs. Milwaukee. Fans who purchase this package will receive a ticket to the game and an exclusive Pablo-themed jersey, which pays tribute to his Venezuelan roots – the Twins recently unveiled a new red jersey for the season’s second half. A portion of the proceeds of each package sold benefit local nonprofits Children’s Minnesota, Project Success and Ruff Start Rescue, which were all selected by Pablo and Kaylee López.

ROKU SUNDAY LEADOFF

First pitch of the Sunday, July 21 series finale against the Milwaukee Brewers will be at 12:05 p.m. because the game will be streamed live and free on The Roku Channel, as part of Major League Baseball’s Sunday Leadoff deal with Roku.

WELL PLAYED, MAUER

Twins legend Joe Mauer will be formally inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY on Sunday, July 21 on the grounds of the Clark Sports Center, with the ceremony beginning at 12:30 p.m. CT. The Twins will honor Mauer at Target Field on Saturday, August 3.

TWINS VS. MILWAUKEE BREWERS: SATURDAY, JULY 20 – SUNDAY, JULY 21 (2 GAMES)

Saturday, July 20 vs. Milwaukee Brewers (6:10 p.m.; gates open at 4:00 p.m.)

  • 612 Saturday presented by Carbliss with media partner Bally Sports North: Get to Target Field when gates open for 612 Saturday presented by Carbliss with media partner Bally Sports North! From 11:00 a.m. until first pitch, fans can enjoy $6 drink specials, $1 snacks and $2 food specials, while receiving the Twins’ best gate giveaways.
  • Gate Giveaway – Royce Lewis Replica Bat: The first 10,000 fans through the Target Field gates on Saturday will receive a Royce Lewis Replica Bat presented by Lee County.
  • Lee County Day: The Twins will celebrate Lee County, the club’s spring home for 34 years and counting, on Saturday. The night includes a ceremonial first pitch thrown out by Marc Mora, Lee County Assistant Community Manager.
  • The Ripple Effect: To celebrate the June launch of their Nike City Connect uniform, the Twins invited a group of 10 diverse Minnesota artists to each paint two cedar Adirondack chairs apiece in exclusive, custom designs inspired by the new uniform colors and theme. Ten of these special chairs were auctioned off, raising $15,000 in net proceeds to benefit specific programming for four local nonprofits, each of which will be recognized during a special pregame check presentation: Friends of the Boundary Waters (proceeds will directly support sending underprivileged Minnesota youth on their first trips to the Boundary Waters); Great River Greening (donations will be utilized to plant native vegetation that will reduce erosion and improve shoreline habitat); V3 Sports (proceeds will fund swim lessons and lifeguard training for youth in north Minneapolis); and YMCA of the North (contributions will directly support “Safety Around Water” programming, funding courses for Minnesota youth).
  • Twins Game Changers: The 2024 Twins Game Changers – local small businesses making a big difference in their respective communities – will be recognized on the field prior to the game. This year’s class, selected and supported in partnership with Bally Sports North, consists of Slice Brothers Pizza, Young Environmental Consulting Group, LLC and Nashke Native Games. Additionally, ceremonial first pitches will be thrown out by Anthony Drews (Nashke Native Games), Hosie Thurmond (Slice Brothers Pizza) and Della Young (Young Environmental Consulting Group, LLC).
  • Final Countdown to Cooperstown: Twins legend Joe Mauer will be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame on Sunday, July 21. The day prior, the Twins will change their season-long Countdown to Cooperstown presented by Coordinated Business Systems to zero, in honor of Mauer’s impending induction.

Sunday, July 21 vs. Milwaukee Brewers presented by Rubik’s Cube (12:05 p.m.; gates open at 10:00 a.m.)

  • Gate Giveaway – Rubik’s Cube: The first 5,000 fans through the gates on July 21 will receive a Rubik’s Cube presented by Rubik’s Cube. The day will also feature speed cubing demonstrations.
  • Ceremonial First Pitch – Rubik’s Cube: A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown out by Timmy Huynh, a professional speedcuber from Tampa, FL who is also a viral content creator and official Rubik’s ambassador; he plans to throw a Rubik’s Cube, rather than a baseball, as his first pitch. Huynh is competing at the Rubik’s World Cube Association North American Championship this weekend.
  • USA Baseball Women’s National Team Recognition: The Twins will recognize the USA Baseball Women’s National Team on the field prior to Sunday’s game. The team has been training in Minneapolis ahead of the World Baseball Softball Confederation Women’s World Cup Finals in Thunder Bay, Canada later this month, and played a scrimmage at Target Field on Wednesday, July 17.
  • Kids Day presented by Target and Gillette Children’s: Every Sunday home game at Target Field is Kids Day presented by Target and Gillette Children’s! Among the activities:
  • Thanks to U.S. Bank, kidsmeals are half price – just $4 – at select concession stands.
  • A member of the T.C. Sluggers Kids Club will be the Play Ball kid.
  • Families can enjoy all the fun of Bullseye’s Backyard presented by Target, located on the Gate 34 Lawn, featuring interactive activities including Big Catch, Run the Bases and a coloring mural to let kids of all ages leave their mark on Target Field. Kids can print their own baseball cards, win ticket upgrades, get a custom screen-printed bag or bandanna and even the chance to be selected as the Target Ball Kid for a game.

Monday, July 22 vs. Philadelphia Phillies presented by CHS (6:40 p.m.; gates open at 5:30 p.m.)

  • Paul Saints Night: Join the Twins and the club’s Triple-A affiliate, the St. Paul Saints, in celebrating Twin Cities baseball. Fans who purchased this sold-out theme night package will receive a ticket to the game and an exclusive co-branded Saints/Twins jersey.
  • Ceremonial First Pitch: A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown out by Chris Wilke on behalf of CHS.
  • University of North Dakota Night: All associated with the University of North Dakota are invited to join their fellow Fighting Hawks for UND Night! Fans who purchase this group event package will receive a ticket to the game plus an exclusive co-themed UND/Twins jersey. A portion of the proceeds from each package sold will benefit the UND alumni association and the night includes a ceremonial first pitch thrown by UND alumnus Josh Brandsted, CEO of Greco Properties in Minneapolis and a 2023 UND Young Alumni Achievement Award recipient.
  • Ceremonial First Pitch – Chad Daniels: A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown out by comedian, podcaster and Fergus Falls, MN native Chad Daniels. Daniels’ new special, “Empty Nester” is currently streaming on Netflix.

Tuesday, July 23 vs. Philadelphia Phillies presented by Xcel Energy (6:40 p.m.; gates open at 5:30 p.m.)

  • Xcel First Pitch: A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown out by Sherryl Volkert on behalf of Xcel Energy.
  • Ceremonial First Pitch: A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown out by platinum recording artist and former Duke University All-American pitcher The rapper and singer will be performing at The Armory on July 27.
  • Postgame Giveaway: All fans leaving Target Field following Tuesday’s game will receive a Twins LED Nightlight presented by Xcel Energy.

Wednesday, July 24 vs. Philadelphia Phillies (12:10 p.m.; gates open at 10:30 a.m.)

  • Naturalization Ceremony: The Twins are proud to host a naturalization ceremony with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services department prior to Wednesday’s series finale against the Phillies. At approximately 11:35 a.m., 20 people from 17 different countries will line up on the warning track behind home plate, take the oath and officially become U.S. citizens.
