Minnesota Twins Homestand Highlights: August 24-30
Twins return to Target Field for seven-game stay against Texas and Cleveland; Theme Nights, gate giveaways, fireworks and a postgame concert on tap for homestand
MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – The first-place Minnesota Twins return to Target Field tonight for their 11th homestand of the season, a seven-game stay against a pair of American League foes. First, the Twins welcome the AL West-leading Texas Rangers for a four-game series tonight through Sunday, August 27. After the Rangers depart, AL Central rival the Cleveland Guardians come to town for three games from August 28-30.

SPECIAL EVENTS – CARLY PEARCE POSTGAME CONCERT AND FRIDAY NIGHT FIREWORKS
The Twins will host their second and final postgame concert of the season, as GRAMMY® Award-winning singer-songwriter Carly Pearce performs a full 75-minute set following the Minnesota-Texas game tonight (Thursday, August 24); attendance to the concert is free with the purchase of a Twins-Rangers ticket. On Friday, August 25, the final installment of the summer-long Friday Night Fireworks series presented by Securian Financial, will be set to songs from Guardians of the Galaxy.

Thursday, August 24 vs. Texas Rangers presented by Klondike (6:10 p.m.; gates open at 5:00 p.m.)
- Recognizing Champions: Pregame, the Twins will recognize the 2023 Minnesota Little League 10u State Champion Coon Rapids Andover American All Stars.
- MLK Day Essay Contest Winners Ceremonial First Pitch: In February, the Twins and the Planting People Growing Justice Leadership Institute asked youth in kindergarten through fifth grade to reflect on what it means to be a “Drum Major for Justice” and to reflect on the timeless wisdom of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The three winners of this year’s MLK Day Writing Competition – 11-year old Cecilia Young, 10-year old Deborah Adedigba and 7-year-old Soliana Emmanuel – will be at Target Field tonight and each will throw out a ceremonial first pitch.
- Carly Pearce Postgame Concert: Following tonight’s Twins-Rangers game, GRAMMY® Award-winning singer-songwriter Carly Pearce will take the field, performing a full, 75-minute set. Admission to the concert is free with the purchase of a Twins-Rangers game ticket. VIP ticket packages are still available for the concert, giving fans the chance to be on the field for the show.
Friday, August 25 vs. Texas Rangers (7:10 p.m.; gates open at 5:00 p.m.)
- Theme Night – Marvel Super Heroes Night: Get ready for a Marvel-ous evening at Target Field! Fans who purchase this special theme night package receive a ticket to the game and an exclusive button-down Twins/Marvel co-branded jersey, as well as a Marvel comic book with a Twins/Marvel co-branded variant cover.
- Friday Night Fireworks presented by Securian Financial: The final installment of the Twins’ summer-long Friday Night Fireworks series presented by Securian Financial will light up the downtown sky with a show set to tunes from Marvel films, including Guardians of the Galaxy.
Saturday, August 26 vs. Texas Rangers (6:15 p.m.; gates open at 4:00 p.m.)
- National Attention: Saturday’s game between the Twins and Rangers will be broadcast nationally on FOX.
- Heart and Hustle: Twins manager Rocco Baldelli will present right-handed pitcher Pablo López with the Twins’ 2023 Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association Heart and Hustle Award prior to the game. The overall winner will be announced in mid-November.
- Radio Waves: The Twins and the Treasure Island Baseball Network will present the John Gordon Radio Affiliate of the Year Award The award is given annually to a Twins Radio Affiliate who goes over and above in promoting baseball and softball in their community. The recognition comes with a $5,000 grant from the Minnesota Twins Community Fund to support growing the game in the affiliate’s territory.
- Gopher State Baseball Tournament of Champions Ring Ceremony: Eighteen of the division-winning teams from the Gopher State Tournament of Champions will be recognized on the field prior to the game, after receiving their GSTC championship rings.

- Little League, Big Dreams: Pregame, the Twins will recognize the 2023 Minnesota Little League 12U State Champion team.
- Kids Day presented by Gillette Children’s and Target: Among the other special activities for Kids Day presented by Gillette Children’s and Target:
- Thanks to Gillette Children’s and Target, kids’ meals are half price – just $4 – at Hennepin Grille (Section 311) and Taste of Twins Territory (Section 124).
- A member of the T.C. Sluggers Kids Club will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
- Nine lucky kids will take the field with the Twins before the top of the first inning as part of the Perkins Kids Starting Lineup.
- Bullseye’s Backyard presented by Target will be set up inside Gate 34, featuring interactive activities including Big Catch, Run the Bases and a coloring mural to let kids of all ages leave their mark on Target Field. The activation also provides the opportunity for kids to print their own baseball cards, win ticket upgrades, get a custom screen-printed bag or bandanna and even the chance to be selected as the Target Ball Kid for a game.

- Making it Count: Civic engagement nonprofit HeadCount will partner with the Twins and be at Target Field to register voters and help fans engage in the democratic process. Find them just inside Gate 34 on the main concourse.
- Wild Night: It’s time to be #OneMN with the Minnesota Wild on Wild Night! Festivities for Wild Night include:
- Ceremonial First Pitch: Wild stalwart Marcus Foligno will throw out a ceremonial first pitch.
- National Anthem: The Wild’s official national anthem singer John deCausemaker will sing “The Star-Spangled Banner”.

- Gate Giveaway – T-Shirt Tuesday with Greg Gossel: The first 5,000 fans through the Target Field gates on Tuesday will receive the penultimate installment of the Twins’ T-Shirt Tuesday Artist Series, this time featuring a design by Greg Gossel. Gossel is an American artist with a background in design whose work is an expressive interplay of diverse words, images and gestures. He uses a variety of media, from hand-painting to silkscreen and raw, found elements like billboard scraps and signage to create his art, which has been exhibited throughout the U.S. and abroad.
- Light Up the North Night: The Twins are proud supporters of the 2023 NAGAAA Gay Softball World Series, taking place in the Twin Cities from August 28-September 3, and invite fans to join in the fun at Light Up the North Night!
- Theme Night Package (SOLD OUT): Fans who purchased this special theme night package will receive a ticket to the game and a co-branded Gay Softball World Series/Twins hat. A portion of the proceeds from each ticket package sold will benefit the Twin Cities Goodtime Softball World Series organization.
- Ceremonial First Pitch: A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by Kenny Johnson, one of the founding members of the Twin Cities Goodtime Softball League in 1979, a longtime player and umpire and a 2013 inductee into the National Gay Softball Hall of Fame.
- National Anthem/7th Inning Stretch: “The Star-Spangled Banner” will be performed by players, family members and friends of the Twin Cities Gay Softball League, directed by Stephen Albaugh. The group includes two American Sign Language interpreters, for a truly inclusive anthem. The same group will come together in the middle of the seventh inning to lead the crowd in “Take Me Out to the Ballgame”.
