Mariners announce Optum as exclusive primary care partner
The Seattle Mariners today announced Optum Washington, which is comprised of the Everett Clinic and The Polyclinic, have entered into a multi-year agreement to be the exclusive primary care partner of the Seattle Mariners. As part of this collaboration, the two organizations will leverage their combined expertise to help people live healthier lives. Inspirational community members who have contributed to the greater Puget Sound area will be highlighted through in-game and online storytelling.
Hometown All-Stars
The Mariners will continue to recognize community members who have distinguished themselves by selflessly working to improve the communities in which they live and serve at select home games throughout the rest of the season. Hometown All-Star honorees from all walks of life can be recognized, including first responders, health care professionals, frontline workers such as grocery workers and bus drivers, volunteers and more. Honorees will receive four game tickets and a VIP experience. Nominations are being accepted until September 30, 2022, at Mariners.com.
Additionally, the Mariners and Optum will collaborate on video features to tell the stories of Hometown All-Stars including Polyclinic and Everett Clinic doctors, clinical team members and patients through online and social media posts on Mariners.com and official social media accounts.
Hits for Hearts
Optum will support the American Heart Association by making a donation for each hit by a Mariners player at T-Mobile Park. Player statistics will be tallied over the course of the season and representatives from the Mariners, Optum and the American Heart Association will participate in a pregame presentation prior to the end of the regular season.
“Optum is honored to support the Mariners as the exclusive primary care partner,” said Dr. Imelda Dacones, President of Optum Washington. “Combined, The Polyclinic and The Everett Clinic have a nearly 200-year history in providing high quality care in the Puget Sound. Working and collaborating together as Optum, we’re proud to partner with the Mariners to support our Hometown All-Stars and address and raise awareness on issues of health, wellness and health equity."
The Mariners partnership with Optum also includes advertising signage at various locations throughout T-Mobile Park, on Seattle Sports 710AM and select stations on the Mariners Radio Network.
