GUARDIANS INVITE RHP JAIME BARRIA TO MAJOR LEAGUE CAMP
CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Guardians announced today the following transaction relative to the 2024 Major League Spring Training roster:
Signed RHP Jaime Barria to a Minor League contract with a non-roster invitation to Major League camp.
Barria, 27, has spent his entire professional career in the Los Angeles Angels organization after signing as an international free agent in 2013 out of Panama City, Panama. He has spent most of the last six seasons since 2018 at the Major League level with the Angels, posting a record of 22-32 with a 4.38 ERA in 134 games/62 starts between the rotation and bullpen (225ER/462.2IP). He participated in the 2017 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game and was named to the Baseball America MLB All-Rookie team the following season. He recorded a 2.61 ERA in 35 outings in 2022 (1GS/23ER/79.1IP).
Additionally, OF Oscar Gonzalez was claimed today by the New York Yankees. The 40-player roster is currently at 39 players.
