Five Minor League players suspended

February 11th, 2022

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that five Minor League players have been suspended following their violations of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

Four players have each received a 60-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Stanozolol, a performance-enhancing substance in violation of the Program. The players are Colorado Rockies Minor League pitcher Jose Flores; Minnesota Twins Minor League pitchers Lenny Polanco and Jesus Tovar; and Miami Marlins pitcher Alan Ramirez, each of whom is currently on the roster of their Club’s Dominican Summer League affiliate.

San Francisco Giants Minor League pitcher Austin Reich, who is currently on the roster of the High-A West Eugene Emeralds, has received a 50-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Amphetamine, a stimulant in violation of the Program.

The suspension of all five players will be effective at the start of their respective 2022 seasons.
