Dodgers claim RHP Phil Bickford
LHP Mike Kickham designated for assignment
LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers claimed right-handed pitcher Phil Bickford from the Milwaukee Brewers and designed left-handed pitcher Mike Kickham for assignment.
Bickford, 25, has appeared in two Major League games in his career, allowing six runs on six hits in 2.0 innings with the Brewers (2020-21). The right-hander was originally drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the first round (18th overall) of the 2015 First Year Player Draft out of the College of Southern Nevada. The former Oak Christian High School standout has posted an 11-8 record with a 2.98 ERA (75 ER/226.2 IP) and 277 strikeouts in five minor league seasons.
Kickham, 32, pitched 2.0 innings for the Dodgers yesterday, allowing three runs on five hits with two strikeouts. The southpaw has spent parts of the four seasons in the Major Leagues, going a combined 1-4 with a 10.10 ERA (52 ER/46.1 IP) and 49 strikeouts with San Francisco (2013-14), Boston (2020) and Los Angeles (2021). He was originally drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the sixth round of the 2010 First Year Player Draft out of Missouri State University.
