DENVER – Colorado Rockies pitcher Daniel Bard announced today he will donate $300 for each of his 2022 strikeouts to Fill the Void: Amp the Cause to End Hunger with the Colorado Rockies Foundation matching his donation to the local non-profit organization. 

Amp the Cause is dedicated to improving the lives of children and families in Colorado, providing entertainment, annual events and community service projects that raise funds for more than 55 local nonprofits. Through Fill the Void, the organization collaborates with Denver and Aurora Public School districts, Denver Health Clinics, the Denver Police Department Outreach Case Coordinators and the Department of Human Services to identify and assist individuals and families with food insecurities. Since the program’s inception in December of 2019, Fill the Void has served over 12,000 families and nearly 2,000 individuals.

Through the first month of the season, Bard has recorded 11 strikeouts, equaling a $3,300 donation with a $3,300 Rockies match.
