D-backs to celebrate Jackie Robinson Day with significant charitable gift and multiple fan and community engagements beginning Friday
Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation to make $100,000 charitable gift to Pilgrim Rest Foundation
The Arizona Diamondbacks will continue to celebrate Jackie Robinson Day tomorrow and over the weekend with a series of charitable gifts, celebrations, recognitions and events to honor Jackie Robinson’s legacy and the 75th anniversary of his historic and transcendent Major League debut. On April 15, 1947, Jackie Robinson broke baseball’s color barrier, serving as a powerful catalyst for necessary changes in our sport and our Nation. Friday begins the first D-backs homestand since the official Jackie Robinson Day on April 15; while the team was able to honor his legacy that day in New York City, the D-backs are committed to ensuring we celebrate at Chase Field with our fans and our community. Friday’s game will end with a spectacular fireworks show, capping off the evening of celebrations. To learn more about Jackie Robinson, visit mlb.com/42 and JackieRobinson.org. The D-backs’ support of Jackie Robinson Day is highlighted at dbacks.com/Jackie.
