D-backs name Adrian Del Castillo and Yilber Diaz organization’s 2024 Player and Pitcher of the Year

The Arizona Diamondbacks named C Adrian Del Castillo and RHP Yilber Diaz the organization’s 2024 Minor League Player and Pitcher of the Year.

  • Named the 2024 Pacific Coast League MVP after hitting .312 (129-for-413)/1.002 OPS with 36 doubles, 3 triples, 26 home runs, 75 RBI, 55 walks and 90 runs scored in 105 games with Triple-A Reno.
  • Ranked among the Minors in SLG (1st, .603), OPS (1st, 1.002), extra-base hits (5th, 65), AVG (6th, .312), doubles (6th, 36) and total bases (7th, 249).
  • Selected as the D-backs 2024 Minor League Player of the Year by Baseball America.
  • Named the PCL Player of the Month and the D-backs Minor League Player of the Month for May after slashing .359/.412/.641 and leading the league in hits (37) and total bases (66).
  • Made his MLB debut on Aug. 7 @ Guardians [Game 2] and became the fifth D-back all-time to collect an extra-base hit (2B) and 1+ RBI in their first career at-bat.

  • Named the Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Week for July 1-7, after tossing 6.0 no-hit innings with a career-high 13 strikeouts @ Sacramento.
  • Had a career-high 13 strikeouts twice: July 1 @ Sacramento and Aug. 27 @ Albuquerque…had 4 games with 10+ strikeouts.
  • Averaged 12.08 strikeouts per 9.0 innings.
