Finalists Invited for Live Auditions at Guaranteed Rate Field in Early August; Grand Prize Winner Scheduled to Sing Anthem Ahead of September 10 White Sox Game
Beginning today through Thursday, July 11, fans are invited to submit an audition video online at whitesox.com/anthem for a chance to perform at live, in-person auditions, held Thursday, August 8, at Guaranteed Rate Field.
Following these final-round auditions, one grand prize winner will be invited back to the ballpark to sing the National Anthem ahead of the White Sox evening game on Tuesday, September 10 vs. Cleveland.
In addition to the video submission guidelines, contest entrants chosen for in-person, final-round auditions will have an opportunity to perform in front of a star-studded panel of expert judges. This group includes Hall of Fame great Harold Baines, NBC 5 Chicago Emmy-nominated news anchor and singer/songwriter Evrod Cassimy, trilingual pop and R&B artist Aya Ito and American Idol, Season 6 contestant and Sox anthem regular Gina Ruzicka. Judges will score finalists on their overall performance, including categories such as vocal quality, projection, expression and emotion.
All finalists will receive a limited-edition White Sox National Anthem Contest T-Shirt, with the grand prize winner presented a customized White Sox jersey and hat ahead of their September 10 performance.
The contest entry window closes on Thursday, July 11 at 11:59 p.m. CT.
