MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers have named infielder Cooper Pratt as Minor League Player of the Month and right-handed pitcher Shane Smith as Minor League Pitcher of the Month for May.

The Brewers also named infielder Filippo Di Turi as Complex League Player of the Month and right-handed pitcher Hayden Robinson as Complex League Pitcher of the Month.

Pratt, 19, batted .278 (22-for-79) with 4 doubles, 1 triple, 1 HR, 10 RBI, 15 runs and 6 stolen bases over 23 games with Class-A Carolina in May. His 19 walks were tied for third most in the Carolina League, while his .426 on-base percentage ranked fourth.

Selected in the sixth round of the 2023 First-Year Player Draft out of Magnolia Heights (MS) High School, Pratt reached base safely in 22 of 23 games in May, including closing the month on a 12-game on-base streak. Pratt hit safely in 11 straight games from May 17-30, batting .341 (14-for-41) in that span.

Smith, 24, went 1-1 with a 2.86 ERA (22ip, 7er), 1 save and 29 strikeouts over 6 appearances (3 starts) for Double-A Biloxi in May. Opponents batted just .220 (18-for-82) against Smith during the month.

He began May in the Biloxi bullpen, but his final 3 appearances were starts, including tossing 5.0 scoreless innings on just 3 hits with a walk and 6 strikeouts on May 29 vs. Pensacola.

Smith was signed by the Brewers as a non-drafted free agent out of Wake Forest University in 2021.

Di Turi, 18, batted .343/.505/.514 (24-for-70) with 5 doubles, 2 triples, 1 HR, 13 RBI, 17 runs and 5 stolen bases in 20 games for the Rookie ACL Brewers in May.

Signed as a non-drafted free agent out of Venezuela in 2023, Di Turi led the Arizona Complex League in walks (21) in May and ranked among leaders in on-base percentage (2nd, .505), OPS (6th, 1.019), hits (6th, 24), batting average (7th, .343), total bases (7th, 36) and slugging percentage (9th, .514).

Robinson, 18, posted a 2.93 ERA (15.1ip, 5er) and 21 strikeouts in 5 appearances (3 starts) for the Rookie ACL Brewers in May. In his final start of the month, Robinson struck out 9 of the 18 batters he faced and allowed just 1 run on 2 hits with a walk over 4.2 innings against the ACL Athletics on May 30.

Robinson was selected in the 14th round of the 2023 First-Year Player Draft out of Berwick High School (LA).
