Blue Jays roster moves

The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired RHP Ryan Burr from the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for cash considerations. Burr has been added to the Major League roster and will be active for tonight’s game.

Burr, 30, has appeared in 15 games for the Phillies’ Triple-A squad in Lehigh Valley this season, going 2-1 with a 2.16 ERA to go along with five walks and 29 strikeouts. The native of Highlands Ranch, CO, was selected in the fifth round of the 2015 First-Year Player Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks, later making his MLB debut for the White Sox in 2018. The 6-4, 220 lb. right-handed reliever has made 66 career big league appearances, posting a 4-3 record and a 4.08 ERA.

The Toronto Blue Jays have also made the following roster moves:

  • RHP Alek Manoah has been placed on the 15-day injured list (right elbow sprain), retroactive to May 30
  • RHP Joel Kuhnel has been designated for assignment
