The Toronto Blue Jays have received C Edward Duran from the Miami Marlins as the player to be named later to complete the August 2 trade.

Duran, 18, signed as an international free agent with the Marlins on January 15, 2021. The native of Caracas, Venezuela, has hit .224 with 11 extra-base hits and 12 RBI for Miami’s Dominican Summer League squad this season. The 5-10, 170 lb. right-handed hitter owns a .254 batting average with 15 doubles, one triple, and 18 RBI across 61 career DSL contests.
