The Toronto Blue Jays have claimed RHP Jose Cuas off waivers from the Chicago Cubs. Cuas has been optioned to Triple-A Buffalo.

Cuas, 29, appeared in nine games for the Cubs this season and 10 games with their Triple-A squad in Iowa, combining to go 1-1 with a 6.93 ERA. The 6-3, 195 lb. right-handed reliever was selected by the Brewers in the 11^th round of the 2015 First-Year Player Draft, eventually making his Major League debut for the Royals in 2022. Over the course of 128 career MLB games, has posted a 4.26 ERA with 119 strikeouts over 116.1 innings pitched.
