Astros x DJ Screw collaboration collection officially released on DJ Screw Day in Houston

The merchandise collection will be sold exclusively at the Astros Team Store beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday

HOUSTON, Texas - In honor of DJ Screw Day in Houston, the Houston Astros launched an exclusive merchandise collaboration on Thursday, celebrating DJ Screw’s influence on the hip hop culture in Houston.

The collection features 11 different items, including t-shirts, a bomber jacket, shorts, hats and a bobblehead. The collection will be sold exclusively from the Astros Centerfield Team Store, beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday. The Astros Centerfield Team Store will remain open until 6:27 p.m. on Thursday, another nod to DJ Screw Day.

The Astros x DJ Screw collection will offer the most complete apparel assortment of any Astros collaboration to date. The Astros are also entering a collaboration with Mitchell & Ness for the first time, one of best MLB licensed vendors and one of the premier partners in the heritage apparel & headwear space.

Fans will be welcomed into the Astros Team Store with a performance from DJ Screw’s High School, the Sterling High School Marching Band, also known as the “Wall of Sound”.

After Thursday’s event, the Astros Team Store will make a donation to the Sterling High School Band in the name of DJ Screw’s estate, in an effort to continue the impact of the Houston legend in the area of the city where he grew up and made history.

Tee DJ Screw Skull – This premium weight, black tee, features the 2000 Astros logo with a large skull on the front of the piece with a cassette tape in front of the Houston skyline, representing the impact that DJ Screw had on the Houston hip hop scene.

Tee DJ Screw Graffiti – The montage of images features two of DJ Screw’s pictures on a premium weight gray tee. The images feature a diamond background and the color purple, that was so popular in 1990’s sports teams with organizations like the Hornets, Suns, Lakers, Raptors and Jazz in the NBA, the relocated Ravens and Vikings in the NFL and the expansion Arizona Diamondbacks, who joined MLB in 1998.

Tee DJ Screw Cassette Tape – Known for creating mix tapes of his music, this tee shirt features a cassette tape on the front and back with some of his biggest hits listed. This tee features the Astros 90’s Gold Star Logo on a navy premium weight tee.

Tee DJ Screw Caricature – This premium weight white tee features a caricature image of DJ Screw pitching a baseball over the Houston skyline. The piece features the 2000’s Brick and Black Astros Logo. The caricature represents the large impact DJ Screw had on the city.

Jacket DJ Screw Bomber – The satin bomber jacket, which is a quintessential 1990’s and 2000’s fashion piece, was seen throughout hip hop world during that time. The silhouette is making a comeback in 2024 and features the 2000’s Brick and Black Astros Logo on the front with a large skull image on the back. DJ Screw’s name is prominently spelled out in screws above the image.

Short DJ Screw – These retro black mesh shorts feature the alternative Astros logo from the 2000’s Brick and Black Era of the team. On the other pant leg, the State of Texas is featured with a cassette tape and a skull with gold teeth.

Hat DJ Screw Cassette – This navy cassette tape cap ties back directly to one of the featured tee shirts and features a navy cap with a gold visor showcases the 90’s Astros logo on the side of the cap. DJ Screw’s name is prominently spelled out on the side of the cap in gold letters. The cap is available in both Snapback and Fitted versions. On the interior of the cap, there is a gold satin lining with more DJ Screw inspired imagery and a faux suede gold under visor. The sweatband features the name of the Screwed Up Click (DJ Screw’s friends and fellow Houston artists) and Chopped and Screwed (the monicker given to his style of music).

Hat DJ Screw Texas – This Mitchell & Ness white cap with a black visor features the 2000’s Astros alternate logo showcasing the State of Texas. DJ Screw’s name is prominently spelled out in screws on the side of the cap. The cap is available in both Snapback and Fitted versions. On the interior of the cap, there is a brick red satin lining with more DJ Screw inspired imagery and a faux suede red under visor. The sweatband features the name of the Screwed Up Click (DJ Screw’s friends and fellow Houston artists) and Chopped and Screwed (the monicker given to his style of music).

Hat Snapback DJ Screw Wavy – This black adjustable cap with a brick red visor and the Astros name in a waved pattern features the 2000’s Astros logo with a large skull on the side with gold teeth. DJ Screw’s name is prominently spelled out in screws below the image.

Hat Snapback DJ Screw Chopped & Screwed (Deluxe Edition) – The cap will be limited to an edition of 300 units. This black adjustable cap showcases the 90’s Astros primary logo on the side of the cap and a purple faux suede visor adorned with a custom Screwville hat clip. On the interior of the cap, there is a purple satin lining with more DJ Screw inspired imagery and a faux suede black under visor. The sweatband features the name of the Screwed Up Click (DJ Screw’s friends and artists) and Chopped and Screwed (the monicker given to his style of music). The button on top of the cap is a screw to represent the groundbreaking artist. What makes the cap truly special is that it comes in a presentation box that is designed to look like a stack of cassette tapes that DJ Screw would use to distro his music. The exterior of the contains multiple Easter eggs for fans to find that showcase hidden images pertaining to DJ Screw and the city of Houston. The box opens to reveal a with a removeable light up panel that features an image of a skull set on the backdrop of the city skyline. Multiple Astros logos adorn the sky in the image. The bed of the box is lined with faux suede.

DJ Screw Bobblehead by FOCO –a limited edition bobblehead will be sold on Thursday that features DJ Screw behind turntables “Throwing Up The H” with his hands. DJ Screw is wearing a 2000’s-era Astros black tee, with his headphones around his ear creating his music.
