HOUSTON, TX - The Astros Foundation will host and support their Community Partner Cheniere Energy with an emergency supply drive on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. The emergency items donated will go directly to the Catholic Charities of Lake Charles and will be distributed to community members impacted by Hurricane Laura.

The items most in need by this community are diapers and wipes, hygiene products (toothpaste, shampoo, soap), toilet paper and paper towels, rakes, brooms, mops, garbage bags, laundry detergent and cleaning supplies, pet food, tire repair kits and air mattresses. The drive is accepting new items only.

This is a no-touch drive, with donations being accepted via curbside drop off on Crawford Street at the Left Field Entrance adjacent to Minute Maid Park. The Astros are kindly asking all volunteers and donors to take proper COVID-19 precautions at the drive.

Astros mascot Orbit and the Astros Shooting Stars will be on hand for the event at select times throughout the day. As a thank you, each donor will receive a Jose Altuve Shooting Star Jersey (while supplies last).

The Astros Foundation and Cheniere Energy will each have a spokesperson available for media availabilities at the drive on Saturday at 9 a.m. For special requests, please contact Steve Grande ([email protected]) in the Astros Communications department or Jenna Palfrey ([email protected]) with Cheniere Energy.

Crane Worldwide Logistics has partnered with the Astros Foundation to ensure safe transport of all collected items to these communities in Southwest Louisiana.
