OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland A’s reinstated outfielder/first baseman Seth Brown from the paternity list and optioned infielder Armando Alvarez to Triple-A Las Vegas, the club announced today.

Brown was placed on the paternity list on August 7. He started the year with the A’s before spending 16 games with Las Vegas. Since returning to the A’s on July 11, he is hitting .283 with five home runs and a .895 OPS in 20 games. Overall this season he is hitting .212 with 10 home runs and a .641 OPS in 99 games with the A’s.

Alvarez was recalled on August 7 for his second stint with the A’s this season and went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored against the White Sox that day. He made his Major League debut on June 22 and played in seven games during his first stint, going 6-for-23 (.261) with one double, one RBI, two walks, and three strikeouts.
