A's place LHP Kyle Muller on injured list; recall LHP Hogan Harris from Las Vegas

OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland A’s placed left-handed pitcher Kyle Muller on the 15-day injured list retroactive to May 27 with left shoulder tendinitis and recalled left-handed pitcher Hogan Harris from Triple-A Las Vegas, the club announced today.

Muller was on the A’s Opening Day roster and was 0-1 with a 3.48 ERA and .254 opponents batting average in 13 relief appearances. He had 24 strikeouts and seven walks in 33.2 innings, but also allowed 33 hits, which is tied for the most among major league relievers. Muller also ranks tied for third among major league relievers in innings pitched.

Harris begins his third stint this season with the A’s and is 1-2 with a 7.67 ERA and .831 opponents OPS in eight starts with Las Vegas. He has 29 strikeouts in 29.1 innings, but has also walked 24, which is tied for 12th most in the Pacific Coast League. The 27-year-old left-hander made his Major League debut with Oakland last year and was 3-6 with a 7.14 ERA and .817 opponents OPS in 14 games, including six starts, over three stints with the A’s.
