OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland Athletics optioned outfielder Luis Barrera to Triple-A Las Vegas, the club announced today.

Barrera was selected from Las Vegas on May 9 and hit .234 with a home run and seven RBI in 32 games with the A’s. He batted .333 over his first 16 games but was 4-for-35 (.114) over his last 16 contests. Barrera has a .286 average, three home runs and 10 RBI in 23 games with the Aviators.
