A’s Agree to Terms with 17 International Players
OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland A’s agreed to terms with 17 international players, including 10 from Venezuela, six from the Dominican Republic and one from Cuba, the club announced today.
The list includes right-handed pitcher Luis Dany Morales out of Cuba, who is rated as the No. 5 international prospect by MLB.com, and outfielder Darling Fernandez from the Dominican Republic, who is ranked 40th. Morales pitched for Sancti Spiritus in Cuba’s Serie Nacional in 2021 and was 3-3 with a 5.95 ERA in 11 games, nine starts. He struck out 58 in 42.1 innings and walked 30 while surrendering just two home runs as an 18-year-old.
